Good fishing and scenery

Nice place to learn a little about WV in the Civil War. It has trails with markers explaining the battle, and life of soldiers in camps. It also has a small cemetery, and a pond for fishing. When walking the trails watch carefully for trail signs, the story markers will help!

The battlefield sits on a hillside overlooking the reservoir with a great view of the wind turbines. The pond is stocked with fish. The hike up the hill is mowed and features signage explaining events if the Civil War battle that took place there. Good wild life sightings there. Have seen muskrats, deer, beavers. Good place for a somewhat strenuous hike with your dog. Picnic tables by the parking lot.
